Have you wondered how to save seeds, but weren’t sure where to start?  Would you like a hands-on experience outdoors, recognizing when seeds are ready to be gathered; and what to do next? 

This Workshop is offered in the early Fall each year.  Dates of sessions and Registration form available by mid-Summer.

As we move towards Fall, humans aren’t the only ones preparing for a change of season.  Plants are readying their grand finale – their raison d’etre!  They are ripening SEEDS.  This workshop is a beginner’s guide to saving the bounty.

Join Meg Jordan of Restore Earth Connections for an opportunity to get to know various plants going to seed. Find out what you need to know to gather, sort, and store seeds so you have a head’s start on growing next Spring!

  • Outdoors in Stewart Creek Food Forest, rain or shine (dress for the weather and walking).
  • Get to know a number of plants going to seed right now.
  • Discover how to gather, sort, and store seeds (including tomato seeds!).
  • Glimpse some of the complexities of the next level of seed saving.
  • Learn of the bigger picture of seed saving, seed security, & food security.
  • Go home with some seeds you gather!
